Where Beer is a draft beer discovery app for iPhone. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the minimum information necessary to operate the App:

• Location data. With your permission, the App accesses your device's location to show nearby venues and beer listings on the map. Location is used only within the App and is never transmitted to our servers or shared with third parties.
• Anonymous device identifier. We use Apple's identifierForVendor — a random, non-reversible identifier assigned by iOS — to support community features such as crowd-sourced beer removal and personal contribution history ("My Adds"). This identifier is not linked to your name, email, or any other personal information. It resets if you uninstall the App.
• User-submitted content. When you add a beer listing, suggest a new beer, or submit a tap price, we store the venue name, beer name, price amount (where provided), and the anonymous device identifier. We do not collect your name or contact details.

2. Information We Do Not Collect

• We do not collect your name, email address, or any account credentials.
• We do not require you to create an account or sign in.
• We do not track you across other apps or websites.
• We do not use advertising identifiers (IDFA).
• We do not sell or share your data with advertisers or data brokers.

3. How We Use Information

• Location — displayed on-device to show the map and nearby venues. Never stored on our servers.
• Anonymous device identifier — used solely to power the crowd-sourced removal system, to enforce fair price submission limits, and to show you the beers you personally added. Never linked to your identity.
• Submitted content — stored in our database to display beer listings to other users. Moderated by the Where Beer team before becoming visible.
• Submitted prices — stored in our database and averaged to display community-reported draft prices to other users. Prices are attributed only to an anonymous device identifier, never to your identity.

4. Data Storage and Security

The App's backend is hosted on Supabase (supabase.com), a trusted cloud database provider. Data is transmitted over HTTPS. We apply reasonable technical measures to protect stored data.
